These past couple weeks have been unusual due to weather. Hopefully this week we will have a full week of school! For most 4K students, today is Parent Teacher Conferences. Depending on the site, your child's parent teacher conferences might be tomorrow or even in March. Whenever your child's parent teacher conferences are, I will try my absolute best to be there! At conferences, I will be sending home some "homework" to do with your child for spring semester and summer. Whether it is working on letters, numbers, colors, counting, etc. working with your child any little bit will help! It's a good idea to make it a routine and to work on one small thing at night. If you ever have any questions or need another copy of anything please let me know!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. This week was nice and short and we focused a lot on just getting back into the routine. Next week I am going to do a rhyming activity with some of my students. 4K is working on rhyming right now, so I thought I would do an extra activity on it. Rhyming can be a challenge for a lot of students so I shared the activity under the resource tab for you to practice with your child at home.
Enjoy the great weather this weekend! Ms. Blaney I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! Enjoy your time with family and friends, and have a great break! Next month we will be sequencing snowmen. I uploaded the file in the resource tab.
December is flying by and we are learning all about Christmas, winter, and gingerbread men. Keeping with the theme, I uploaded a Santa sequence to the resource tab to work on sequencing with your child at home. A hard copy will be sent home in your child's folder this month. Have a wonderful weekend!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy the long weekend with lots of food and family time. I uploaded a upper case letter puzzle for you to do with your child if you would like. Have your child put the puzzles together and talk about the letter and letter sounds. I will only being seeing students Monday- Wednesday next week as I am helping with Child Development Days Thursday and Friday.
Happy Thanksgiving! :) November is here and we are learning all about fall, turkeys, and Thanksgiving. I uploaded a color by number turkey to practice with your child at home. Our November sequence story will be about carving a pumpkin. Next week we will practice sequencing the pictures and putting them in order. Look for the picture cards to practice with your child at home!Fall is changing the leaves all around! I put a new math activity for you to do with your child at home. This activity will help with counting, sorting, and colors. Next week is Halloween already! We will be rhyming, counting with pumpkins, practicing letters in our name, number recognition, etc. I am making new name sheets for every student, so look for your child's old name puzzle in there backpack in the next two weeks!
Have a great long weekend & Happy Halloween! This year we are going to work on sequencing and retelling a 3 step activity. Sequencing and retelling sets a foundation for when your child starts to read. Having the ability to retell an activity will help your child with comprehension while reading. Each month I will send home a sequencing activity that you can practice with your child at home. I will also upload these activities to the website under the resource tab. Once we practice the activity at school, I will send it home. Please look in your child's folder this week for an apple sequencing activity.
Families who have Parent Teacher Conferences on Monday, I look forward to seeing you during conferences. I will have a small thing to share with you at this time. In the resource tab I put a letter knowledge and writing activity for you to do at home if you would like. I started sending home Making Progress sheets in your child's folder at the end of the week. This will tell you what your child did at school and what we are working on. Have a great weekend!
